Admission in PGDM

Eligibility:

  • Graduates in any stream from a University Approved/ Recognised by the UGC/ AIU are eligible to apply
  • Students appearing in the final year graduation exam by or before June 2021/ awaiting final year exam results can apply for the 2021-23 batch
  • Minimum 50% marks in Graduation are necessary for General category students, but for reserved category candidates minimum 45% marks in Graduation are necessary
  • Scores in the following exams are considered for short listing: CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, GMAT or State Common entrance examinations

Admission Procedure:

  • Students need to submit an Online application to NDIM. Non-refundable application fee is Rs 1,000. 
  • Applicants are invited to appear in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview process conducted by NDIM
  • Thereafter, selection is made on the basis of the criteria listed below

Selection Criteria:

  • Final selection is based on overall performance
  • Graduation, 12th Class & 10th Class exams
  • CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, GMAT or State Common entrance examinations
  • Group Discussion and Personal Interviews
  • Achievement in any other field/ activity including sports, extra-curricular activities, work experience, additional educational qualifications, activities highlighting leadership, team work, innovation, decision making qualities, contribution to social causes/ community service etc
  • Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories if any is provided as per AICTE directions. Unfilled seats under this category are offered to the general candidates

The course fee mentioned above is inclusive of all charges, except the charges for Hostel and International study tours, which are optional.

Hostel Fee : NDIM has tied up multiple excellent and safe hostel accommodations, separately for boys and girls within walking distance of the campus. Married students accommodation is also available. Some of the faculty also resides in these hostels. Charges, inclusive of meals depend upon the facilities availed. Free to and fro transport facility to the campus is available for the students. Hostel charges for twin sharing rooms with furniture, aircooling, attached bathrooms, wifi and common TV start at Rs. 8500 per month. Charges may increase in case of additional amenities (like single occupancy, air-conditioning, family accommodation etc).

Refund : All refund applications are processed as per AICTE guidelines.

Dress Code:

  • Students are required to be dressed in Business Casuals. Formals are essential on all important occasions including any event where corporate interaction is planned.

Zero Tolerance on Ragging:

  • No act of ragging, indiscipline or misconduct is tolerated. Ragging or indecent behavior of any kind is strictly prohibited. Any student found guilty of indiscipline or ragging is expelled and full fee forfeited.

  • NDIM is a unit of Society for Employment & Career Counselling, registered in 1992. In pursuance of the Society’s mandate, the Institute imparts free career counselling to applicants of MBA, PGDM and other management courses.

Educational Loans

Students may approach any bank for educational loans. Praxis has loan arrangements with Axis Bank, IDBI Bank, Credila Financial Services, Avanse Financial Services for student loans, details of which would be furnished on selection.

The Praxis Scholarships are divided in 3 categories:

  • Director’s Merit List – 8 scholarships
  • Praxis Business School Foundation Scholarships – 8 scholarships
  • Women in Tech Scholarships – Applicable for all Women aspirants fulfilling the scholarship criteria

The total amount of scholarships on offer:

  • Up to INR 40 Lakhs for Director’s Merit List and Praxis Business School Foundation Scholarships
  • INR 1 Lakh for each women aspirant fulfilling the criteria for Women in Tech Scholarship

The Scholarships entail the following process:

  • All students who meet the criteria for the scholarships can apply for the same.
  • A student can apply to scholarship under a single category at the time of admission
  • The performance of the Scholars will be monitored closely for the renewal of the Scholarship every year*.
  • Students need to maintain a minimum CQPI every trimester to be eligible for continuing with the scholarship*.
  • The decision of Praxis Business School is final and binding in case of awarding the scholarships.

Praxis WiT (Women in Tech) Scholarships is an initiative to encourage and support greater women’s participation in tech and data careers. This is in line with our belief that gender diversity in the workforce, especially in tech, brings immense value to the organization, the economy, and society.

The Praxis Women in Tech (WiT) Scholarship will be awarded to all women aspirants applying for the top-ranked AICTE-approved 2-year full-time PGDM at Praxis.

  • Women are acutely under-represented in the fields of tech and data, despite global conversations on gender diversity in the workforce

Eligibility Women aspirants, applying for the Praxis WiT Scholarship in PGDM need to fulfill the following qualifying criteria:

Valid CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT score of 70 percentile+

Scholarship Amount: INR I lac (Applicable PGDM Academic fee for Women-in-Tech will be INR 6.27 Lacs).

Eligibility Students need to have a the following qualifying scores

  • Class X – 80%
  • Class XII – 80%
  • Graduation – 70%

In addition, there should be no year-gap or backlogs during the academic career.

Students should have scored a minimum of 80 percentile CAT/ XAT or 85 percentile in CMAT or 90 percentile in MAT/ATMA.

Scholarship Amount Rs. 2,00,000 (Rs.50,000 per installment)

Condition for continuation of the scholarship
Students under the list need to fulfill the following conditions failing which the scholarship will be withdrawn.

Be in the top 25% of the class and maintain a minimum CQPI of 5.2 out of 8 in each trimester.

Eligibility Students need to have a the following qualifying scores

  • Class X – 75%
  • Class XII – 75%
  • Graduation – 60%

In addition, there should be no year-gap or backlogs during the academic career.

Students should have scored a minimum of 70 percentile CAT/ XAT or 75 percentile in CMAT or 80 percentile in MAT/ATMA.

Students seeking the scholarship need to submit income proof 

Scholarship Amount Rs.3,00,000 (Rs.75,000 per installment)

Selection criteria

IMI Selection Index consisting of CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT score, past academic performance in graduation, class XII & X, Group discussion, Extempore speaking, Essay writing, Personal interview besides other parameters, will be considered for selection. The IMI Bhubaneswar Admission Committee reserves the right to decide on these components. The overall objective is to identify and assess the candidate’s potential for a managerial career.

Company sponsored candidates

  • IMI Bhubaneswar accepts applications from Company sponsored candidates, within the approved strength of the Program and such candidates will also be assessed as per the selection process described above.
  • Candidates being sponsored by their respective companies must submit a letter from the sponsoring organization, to this effect and undertake to pay all fees and dues from time to time, during the complete duration of the Program. This letter/undertaking will be required to be submitted at the Personal Interview stages.
  • The fee structure for such candidates is different and can be obtained from the Admission Office of the campus.

Interview centers

The selection process will be conducted at centers in Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Jammu, Kolkata, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Ranchi, Raipur, Varanasi and Vishakhapatnam. Candidates should indicate their 1st and 2nd preference of interview center in the application form. If a candidate’s preferred center is not allotted for any reason, the candidate will be informed of the change. IMI reserves the right to change any of the centers for the selection process, without assigning any reasons.

Admission Offer

Admission offer will be based on IMI Selection Index after the assessment has been made during the various stages of the selection process defined above. The result will be announced on IMI’s website. Applicants are advised to check the updates on the website at regular intervals. Offer letters will thereafter be dispatched to the mailing address provided in the application form and by email. Applicants are advised to provide their complete postal address and active email ID which should be valid up to June 30, 2022 for receiving important communications.

Successful candidates, who have been admitted, will be required to pay the 1st installment of fee within two weeks of the date of offer, failing which the offer shall stand lapsed and admission will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list, without any further intimation. IMI will not accept any responsibility for non- receipt of any communication which is sent to the candidate’s address and mail ID provided in the Admission Application form.

Refund of Fees on Withdrawal as per the AICTE Guidelines

In the event of a student/candidate withdrawing before the commencement of the programme (as per AICTE Academic Calendar) the entire fee collected from the student after a deduction of the processing fee of Rs. 1000 (Rupees One thousand only) shall be refunded by the institution. If a student leaves after joining the course and if the vacated seat is consequently filled by another student by the last date of admission, the institution would refund the fee collected after a deduction of the processing fee of Rs. 1000 (Rupees One thousand only) and proportionate deductions of monthly fee and proportionate Hostel Fee. In case the vacated seat is not filled, the institution would refund the security deposit.

Tuition Fee Waiver:

All students whose total family income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum shall be eligible for Scholarship under Economically Weaker Section.

Applications for Tuition Fee Waiver under Economically Weaker Section shall be invited from the students after they have been admitted into the programs. Any student joining PGDM 2022-24 batch who is desirous of claiming the tuition waiver should apply to admissions office (admissions@imibh.edu.in) before due date as will be intimated by the institute, with a copy of the income tax returns, PAN number, Certificate issued by competent authority appointed by appropriate government.

Requests received after due date shall not be processed. Please note that all Applications for Tuition fee waiver (under economically weaker section) shall be collected and processed at one time for all such applicants.

Scholarships for Economically Weaker Section shall be offered up to 5% seats of the total intake of the institute.

Loan

The details of loan facility offered by SBI are as below

  •  Included under List “B” of Scholar Loan Scheme.
  •  Applicable loan limits: Up to Rs.20 lakhs, without tangible collateral security.
  •  Rate of Interest: 1% above 1 year MCLR, currently 9.45% p.a.

  •  The maximum loan amount will be Rs. 14 lakhs without any collateral security including living expenses.

  •  The student will have the option to get the whole loan amount disbursed in one go.
  •  The normal processing time of loan is 7 working days.

Scholarships And Rewards

The institute has the provision for awarding the following scholarship and rewards to the deserving performers.

o Pre-Admission Scholarships*

• Merit Scholarship: Up to Rs. 1 lakh for applicants having a first-class career and securing at least 80 percentile in CAT/XAT/CMAT and at least 80 percent in GMAT
• Merit scholarship for women candidates: 20 percent additional merit scholarship for female applicant fulfilling the above-mentioned criteria
• Defense personnel: Wards of defense personnel are eligible for a scholarship of Rs. 50,000. Wards of Martyr’s are eligible for a scholarship of Rs. 1,00,000

*Only one of the above-mentioned pre-admission scholarships can be availed. 50 % of the scholarship availed will be disbursed at the end of the first year and next 50 % at the end of the second year. A candidate can avail either tuition fee waiver or pre- admission scholarship. Scholarship Committee’s decision is final and binding on all applicants.

o Post-Admission Scholarships

Merit scholarships are awarded for outstanding cumulative academic performance. Summer internship scholarship is awarded to emphasize the seriousness of summer internships and encourage the students to put in their maximum effort.

Welcome to the International Management Institute Kolkata(IMI-K)

The Programme

The two-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is the flagship programme of IMI Kolkata. It is AICTE approved and has accreditation from NBA. The program is equivalent to MBA as per the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Why IMI?

Educational Qualification:

Minimum 50% marks in Class X, XII and Graduation

To be eligible for admission to the PGDM (s), the participants must possess a bachelor’s equivalent degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in any discipline, from a recognized university in India or abroad (recognized by the UGC / Association of Indian Universities). The Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years education after the completion of higher secondary schooling under the 10+2 system or equivalent.

Candidates appearing in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent are also eligible, provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by September 30, 2022, failing which the candidates may be asked to withdraw from the programme.

Categories of Applicants

Self-Sponsored Candidates

Bulk of the applicants to IMI Kolkata are self-sponsored candidates. They are either fresh graduates or have worked for a few years and join IMI Kolkata after quitting their jobs. The Institute’s Placement Cell provides them placement assistance on a best-effort basis.

Company Sponsored Candidates

IMI Kolkata accepts applications from company-sponsored candidates. These candidates will also be assessed as per the selection process followed at IMI Kolkata.

Candidates being sponsored by their respective companies must submit a letter from the sponsoring organization, to this effect and undertake to pay all fees and dues from time to time, during the complete duration of the programme. This letter/undertaking will be required to be submitted at the Personal Interview stage.

Candidates who are sponsored by their organization will not be eligible for receiving any placement assistance from the Institute’s Placement Cell.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the final stage of the selection process – Individual Assessment Process (Essay Writing and Personal Interview etc.). Individual Assessment Process will be held in February/March 2022 (tentative).

Past academic records, performance in the individual assessment process along with other qualitative parameters, like quality of work experience and extra-curricular activities constitute the core components of the selection process.

The IMI Kolkata Admissions Committee reserves the right to modify these components while communicating these to the applicants at the Individual Assessment stage. The overall objective will be to identify and assess the candidate’s potential for a managerial career.

Applicants should note that mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria may not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IMI Kolkata. IMI Kolkata will not entertain any correspondence on this subject and decisions of the IMI Kolkata Admissions Committee will be final in all matters.

Interview Centers

Besides Kolkata, the selection process will be conducted at other centers including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Ranchi, Jaipur, Indore, Dehradun, Varanasi and Mumbai. If a candidate’s preferred centre is not allotted, for any reason, the candidate will be informed of the change. IMI Kolkata reserves the right to change or cancel any of the centers for the selection process, without assigning any reasons.

Admission Offer

The Final selection of the candidate is based on Entrance Exam Score + academic profile + WAT Score + PI Score

Admission Offer will be based on a composite score arrived after the assessment has been made during the various stages of the selection process, defined above. The result will be emailed to the shortlisted candidates and will be notified on the IMI Kolkata Website. Applicants are advised to provide their complete postal address and active email ID which should be valid up to 30th June 2022 for receiving important communications. Successful candidates, who have been offered admission, will be required to pay the 1st instalment of fee within two weeks of the date of offer, failing which the offer shall stand lapsed and admission will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list, without any further intimation.

  • Admissions at ITS for the PGDM program is strictly on merit basis. The students’ score in competitive exams like MAT/CAT/XAT/ATMA/CMAT or any other national level test is necessary.
